7/8 Science |
All About Me: Hi! Welcome and thank you for visiting my science page! This is my second year at Roberto Clemente and I am VERY eager to start! I have tremendous amounts of experience in the science realm. I was a Biology major for my undergraduate program and studied Secondary Education in a graduate program. I have done research as a studying student, in which, my research is currently being readied to be published in a scientific journal. Science is my life. I believe in creating a productive, hands on, fun (but safe) environment for my students. I can assure you that your child will succeed in my class and enjoy learning about various science topics. I am firm believer that in my classroom we are a TEAM that communicates and solve problems together.
About My Class: I teach 7th & 8th grade science. Each grade will learn various science topics throughout the year. Each quarter there will be two units addressed. I take my class very seriously and I will expect my students to do so as well. Although science can be fun and cool, it is critical for classroom rules and laboratory safety procedures to be followed at ALL times. All class rules, safety rules, homework procedures, absences, late work, assessments, etc. can be found in the class syllabus.
Contact Me: If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to email me. I check my email periodically throughout the day and will get back to you as soon as I can!
EMAIL: [email protected]
Parent Contact: I LOVE to call home for positive behaviors in my classroom so it is crucial for me have a working phone number or email address. I also like to update parents/guardians on activities that are occurring in my classroom. However, I do call to report inappropriate behaviors when necessary, but I much rather give good news than bad!
Homework: Students in both 7th & 8th grade receive homework daily. Please be sure to check students agenda & sign them. Homework is worth 15% of their grade so missing assignments will hurt their grade.
Grading Percentages:
50% Labs/ Classwork
25% Tests/ Quizzes
15% Homework
10% Participation
